I've stayed all up and down the West Coast and a few others not on the coast and have been impressed with the professionalism of staff and cleanliness of all the resorts. The online aspect is easy to navigate and use. The Babson planning over the phone is my favorite add they are very friendly, professional, and eager to help. I've manged to get rooms really available and through the wait list. They even explained how to better utilize the wait list. Bad apples: In any company there will be a bad apple or two, but does that mean we stay away from the apple pie made from the good ones? Don't let them get to you. Maybe they are new or going through a rough time themselves. I'm sure it's not easy trying to help someone spend less money in nicer accommodations and hearing . I love my ownership and would recommend to anyone that travels, vacations, or just wants to be able to get away with loved ones. So much better and more advantageous than the timeshare presentations I've been to. World. Mark is a total sham - you spend 1. My credits had been completely paid off, then they have one singular instance of autopay not working and instantly they cancel my autopay without any notification - written nor call or anything. To reset everything back in order they take conveniently two cycles before it can be re- instated to which you are forced to use phone, or online with a ! Last year we went to New Mexico & our unit had mice, was very dirty, dusty, full of cobwebs. AND our A/C was broken! This year were currently staying @ San Diego, Balboa. We've had a big shock from being here before, now valet parking is nearly a MUST if you want to park your car safely & not go feed a meter or walk & cross busy streets. The lead, Ana suggested we ! We had money taken from our unit while we were at the beach, reported it to front desk & will send letter to corporate. We will not be returning to THIS location! Next year, Seaside Oregon! Hoping for a NORMAL vacation there! Not pleased with the Wyndham merge. Dallas, TXJust got back from the Victoria, BC Canada with a harbor view resort for 7 days. Awesome experience, and same as Depoe Bay OR. Still remember the days at the unit facing the ocean cliff, and waking up everything morning with ocean view right out the window. The company is just getting bigger and better, highly recommended. Exactly! All this company cares about is high pressure sales. They either try to force me into presentations while I am trying to enjoy one of the resorts. The only thing I am thankful for is that my credits are paid off. All this company cares about is high pressure sales. They either try to force me into presentations while I am trying to enjoy one of their broken down resorts in the middle of nowhere or they are calling me at home on a Sunday afternoon to use the ruse of being interested in my opinion. The bottom line is they have some sort of great deal that they are only letting a select few into. The only thing I am thankful for is that my credits are paid off. Now I just get to watch my dues, cleaning fees, and any other charges sky rocket at a Rate much higher than standard inflation. My husband and I have been owners of Worldmark (formerly Trendwest) for 1. In 2. 00. 3, we purchased 1. We own it flat out (no loan). We've stayed in Lake Tahoe, Anaheim, Waikiki, Kauai, Maui, Big Island, Mexico, Sydney, Vancouver, Angels camp, Palm Springs, san Francisco, Vegas, pismo beach, ocean side, and Florida. We pay Maintenance fees, yes, but think of it as paying HOA fees where the owners share the cost.. We usually book in advance and always get the reservation, unless its some super hot spot where there are only a few units at the specific location like pismo beach or Monterey. It's an investment and I don't think I'll ever sell. We don't attend any presentations anymore.. Imagine vacationing for the rest of our lives and all we pay is maintenance fees! All the traveling we've done in 1. AND maintenance fees combined. Always a full kitchen and washer/dryer and multiple bathrooms! We do not have RCI with our Worldmark timeshare. Also, we can now book any Wyndham location through Club Pass so life has gotten better! Very hard to use over the internet. Nothing great will be available. Use off season choices for your points if you need to use them up. Maintenance fees are the same as getting a hotel, so why bother with a time share. My family has been an owner for over 1. Loved the first few years experience but things have changed. Below are the following reasons I would NOT buy at this point: 1) Management increased dues 4- 5% each year for the past 6 years. This is at a time when inflation is 2% or less. Your annual expenses will continue to go up materially, don't think otherwise. It is harder and harder to book the . Management is no longer building properties in marquee vacation spots. Instead they have built in middle of nowhere Texas trying to lure the population in that state. Good luck trying to book the good stuff unless you plan 1. With options such as airbnb you don't need a timeshare. Save your money and get exactly what you want in any town rather than be limited to timeshare locations. We are still owners but may be ending our membership if things do not turn around in the next couple years. I have been a worldmark . We had an amicable divorce and decided to keep this in both of our names and share useage. They never have my name on file even though we both own it. I arrived at night in Kauai to hear that I didnt have a reservation that it was only under my ex husbands name. This is really fun when you are there with a new man friend: / THE WORST is that I had a car accident early last year and fell behind on dues one year.. DID YOU KNOW THEY CAN VOID THE WHOLE THING AND TAKE IT BACK TO RESELL?!!! That is some bullshit!! I have been an owner for years and although there are times that I've wanted to sell based on the fact that locations of timeshares aren't always convenient, their constant construction, the misleading features of the facilities and the fact that I don't get priority in bookings (1. HI locations) I've never felt so sure that it's now the time to sell. This place has had my name wrong for as long as I can remember and it seems to take an act of God to get it changed. It's not just a typo either, they have me in their system as Garrow Fawcett. Two of my last names.. These guys are schiesters! We endured the timeshare push in San Diego. The best way to book lodging: I start at Hotels. Trip. Advisor. com to read reviews and to get a feel for what is available and what the discounted prices may be, but I rarely buy there because I find better deals going directly to the specific hotel website and using our AARP discount. Good luck and remember what we teach our children, . Three plus hours later and a hundred no's, we finally escaped. These are terrible tactics. I have 2. 3,0. 00 units each year with also travel share. I do admit that the sales pitch are very hard- core but they do except no for an answer Walk away with $1. I have never had trouble booking, airfare and car rental or excursions. We have even done a cruse to Baja Mexico. Only using units I can also pass this on to my children when I die. Yes it's expensive to join but if you use it over 2. I love the rooms these rooms I could never afford any other way . Before we purchased into Worldmark we paid over $6. Florida for two of us and our two children. The Hotels we stayed in for cheap dirty and crappy for that $6. I've now taken three week trips to Florida and it hasn't cost me one penny I have also given a honeymoon to my daughter a honeymoon to my daughters friend and they know their honeymoon to my niece and another honeymoon for our renters. You couldn't ask for a better wedding present than that. No I am not a sales person I am not affiliated in any way other than as a Owner. The reason you can purchase resell units cheaper is because you don't get all the amenities that purchasing them directly from Worldmark brings you. You don't get travel share or the cruises or the airlines or the car rentals . Then you don't get the extra housekeeping or when you reach gold no housekeeping fees. If all you want to do is travel around the US and a few other places that Worldmark has then yes purchasing them from resell places will work for you. Just remember make sure there are no outstanding taxes or fees due on the property you are buying or it will become your problem. Also remember that the maintenance dues are the same,Or as how I like to refer them to Taxes. You pay the same even if you don't get the extra perks. First the Good, The Employee's at the resorts are awesome, helpful and fun. Now the Bad - Every time you visit a location they will try to up see you and make statements like this is your only chance to buy these up grades, you are not able to take advantage of all of the resort amenities. Even if the type of room you booked sells out, if another club owner cancels and that room does not sell, you will lose your vacation credits for that room. Our sales lady- Brenda Washington- in Anaheim was crying and telling us how it changed her life. She asked us if seeing our children happy was important to us. Make it.' We were so glad to get out of there! No matter how nice funny and easygoing they may seem, they aren't. At all. I have been a Worldmark owner for many years and love being an owner. I also have many friends who are owners and they love it too. I don't understand all the negative reviews! If people don't read a contract and ask questions to clarify, how can they give a company a bad review when they find out what they signed up for? Every resort we've stayed at has been clean, well stocked and well maintained.
